The Atelier

A house built on one standard

Est. MMXII — London Scroll Twelve weddings a year, never more

Aurelia was founded in London in 2012 by two producers who had spent a decade backstage at the world's great events — opera premieres, state dinners, fashion shows in palazzi — and had come to believe that the most important production of all was the one nobody was treating as art: the wedding.

We began with a single celebration on Lake Como — a ceremony for forty guests in a garden we could not afford to get wrong — and we have kept that first wedding's standard as the house's only metric: would we be proud to stand in the back of the room and watch it unfold?

Fourteen years later the atelier spans London, New York and a studio above the lake in Cernobbio, but the shape has not changed. A small team. Twelve celebrations a year. Every destination scouted on foot, every vendor known by name, every guest considered. We are not the largest house in this world, and we intend never to be.

What We Believe

Three principles, held firmly

Restraint

Twelve weddings a year, never more. Eleven destinations, never everywhere. A small atelier, deliberately — because attention is the rarest luxury we sell, and it does not scale.

Authorship

Every celebration is written from the couple outward, never from a template inward. We begin with who you are; the flowers, the menu and the music are merely how the story becomes visible.

Stewardship

We are the guests' host as much as your planners — the quiet hands behind the transfers that work, the dietary notes remembered, the grandmother who is seated exactly where she can see. Hospitality is the invisible half of beauty.

The Way We Work

Produced like theatre, felt like family

Behind every Aurelia celebration is a production discipline learned in opera houses and on film sets: run sheets to the minute, weather plans B and C, a meteorologist on call, and a show-caller's calm on the day itself. In front of it is something softer — the feeling that the weekend simply happened, beautifully, of its own accord.

That gap between the machinery and the feeling is where the atelier lives.

The last dance, Lake Como

Would we be proud to stand at the back of the room and watch it unfold? It is the only question we ask.
